Welcome to my web site. I’m Chuck Hooks – AKA Tackman and SASS™ (Single Action Shooting Society) alias “Charlie One Shot”.

I’ve been doing leather crafting for about twenty years. I am one of those self-taught individuals. I started by buying a couple of old saddles with broken trees – took them apart, repaired them and went on from there. I did tack repair in the stable where I had my horse. The money I made I put into books, videos, and seminars, etc., anything to learn more about working with leather. I think the best videos I ever purchased are the ones by John Bianchi on making Buscadero holsters.

My work includes the handcrafting of custom and specialty items including:

Belts: All types of waist belts

Dog collars: standard and ornamented with sterling silver, Schutzund agitation collars

Dog harnesses: Companion Service Dog harnesses, Mobility Assistance Dog harnesses, Guide Dog for the visually impaired harnesses, pulling harnesses, special needs harnesses

Gun Leather: All types of holsters from Shoulder holsters to Fast Draw to Buscadero to SASS™

Other Leather items: scabbards, chaps, chinks, farrier aprons, lumber mill aprons, welding aprons

Leather Repair: Restoration of antique saddles as well as normal repairs to modern tack
